We’ve been on the road for the last 75 days. We covered 2 countries (to be precise 1,5 countries – one Ecuador and half of Peru 🙂 ) and about 2000km in our motorhome. Every day one or two great adventures, always new surroundings and new people.
Yes, traveling is great, but I start to miss my everyday actvities usually about 2 months after setting off. I miss my mum and all around visiting her in our tiny town Wolbrom, I miss yoga classes and art classes. I miss some friends and most definitely I miss comforts of staying in one and the same flat for a longer period of time. The latter implies that I can find all belongings where they are supposed to be, I do not have to pack and unpack, I can cook whenever I want, I know my surroundings and know where to shop the best, I know the nearest park to go with my kids and so the list goes on.
That is why we’ve decided to take a rest in Lima and „do” some of the routine. Let’s bore ourselves with 14 days in the same place, same beds, same shops and doing nothning extraordinary exept for writing in this blog, sorting out our photos and drawing a few pictures. Let’s get bored to death by the last day and then get on our motorhome with so much energy that we do next stop of this sort in Santiago the Chile. Let’s kill everyday adventures with everyday routine and then get back on the road: ))
So here is our tipical limenian home – not in the posh Miraflores district, but in a rather lower middle-class district of Santa Anita. We need an hour to drive to Miraflores, but have a big shopping mall on one side and sort of slums on the other side. That could reflect Lima very well – welfare and poverty aside.
PS. Anyone in Lima right now? Would love to meet up. Drop me a line in you’re here ; )
